Secondhand Gems Clothing is a small business clothing store out of West Los Angeles that sells carefully curated pieces of clothing from some of the most globally recognized brands. Secondhand Gems Clothing was born in my high school years out of the love I had for fashion brands and clothing in general. I didn’t grow up from money but I wanted to still be a proud owner of many of the amazing pieces of clothing that I saw my fellow classmates wearing; I just couldn’t afford them even with my employee discount which is damn near only covering tax. Going back in time to my childhood years, I used to help my father shop for VCR’s, DVD players, and old electronics at the local Goodwills and resale them at his weekly yard sales. I quickly fell in love, even as a kid, with the tried and true saying that “One mans trash his another mans treasure”. As time went by I began going to these thrift stores not for electronics, but for clothes. To my surprise, there was so many amazing “like new” pieces hanging on the racks of these stores. It blew my mind and I made it a mission to find these “like new” pieces so I could finally have the dream closet I always wanted. I began to love taking these trips all around the Los Angeles area in search of the best clothes for the absolute best prices; it was a treasure hunt of sorts and it made me feel like a modern day pirate except the treasure was the coolest streetwear pieces I can find.

The dream closet got bigger and bigger and BIGGER. I then said to myself “One mans trash is another mans treasure”. I had to get rid of some of these treasured pieces. I used my knowledge in product photography to take pictures of my clothes and put them on eBay in hopes of getting some money and more space in my closet. Secondhand Gems Clothing without my knowledge at the time, was born right then and there. Since then, my goal has been to find secondhand clothing in great condition and help others build their dream closet for so much less than the retail stores of today. We carefully inspect every item and photograph the finest details of them so our customers can buy with complete confidence and know they are getting a quality product from someone that truly cares how they feel when they wear it. It shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg to put your arms through a quality t shirt and your leg through your favorite pair of jeans.
